Dr. Jens Hartmann works as project manager at the encoway GmbH in Bremen, Germany.

Previously Jens worked as Semantic Technology Consultant at the Intelligent Systems Department of the Center for Computing Technologies within the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Bremen (Germany) where he also lectured master and bachelor courses on Computer Sciences.

After graduating in June 2002 he received in February 2007 his PhD - "Ontology-based Modeling and Realization of Knowledge Management Systems" - from the Institute of Applied Informatics and Formal Description Methods (AIFB) at the University of Karlsruhe (TH), Germany.

Jens has published widely in the areas Semantic Web and Knowledge Management. His work spans from technology to economy and includes novel methods and software tools for modeling and representing knowledge as well as knowledge discovery and machine learning techniques.

He enjoys very much to work in interdisciplinary and multi-cultural teams. He has profound expertise in developing novel methods and tools in the area of Semantic Technologies and applying them in industrial settings.
